Literature & Samples
We have wet samples of most of the finishes we carry. Due to shipping rate increases and other costs involved, our policy regarding wet samples is as follows:
1-5 samples equal a $6.00 charge for shipping and handling.
6-9 samples equal a $8.00 charge for shipping and handling.
10-15 samples equal a $10.00 charge for shipping and handling.
Samples of Sansin custom order colors can take up to 3 weeks for delivery. Shipping and handling for samples sent to Alaska, Hawaii, and to International destinations will vary based on location.
We prefer that you use a credit card to pay for charges when you call in your order. Be sure to ask about our Wet Sample Discount when you place your product order! If you have any questions, or for larger quantity sample requests, please contact our Literature Department at 1-800-359-6614.

Errors that appear in our catalog and web site are subject to correction. Changes to products either in design, description, or availability are beyond our control. Thank you for your understanding.
Products that are custom made or depending on quantity or availability are considered custom orders. They are non-returnable and subject to 2-3 or 4-6 weeks for delivery.
Due to shipping restrictions, some products can only be shipped by ground delivery. Next Day, Second Day, or Three Day Select is not available for products with this symbol.
Some products are subject to UPS oversize charges based on size, not weight. The Oversized symbol marks these particular products for quick identification.
Products restricted for sale or shipment to specific states and/or countries are marked with the Restricted Sales symbol. Please refer to the details near the product description.
Products restricted from shipping by the United States Postal Service have this symbol.
Certain products may not be sold or shipped to SCAQMD (South Coast Air Quality Management District) Region of California. Counties are: Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County Zip Code Check
Certain products are non stock items and are considered Special Orders. These products are available within a minimum of 1-3 weeks. Returned Special Order products are subject to a 15% restocking fee and a $25.00 handling charge.
All product warranties are offered through the manufacturer.
We ship daily by FedEx, Spee-Dee Delivery, UPS, and USPS. International Orders Welcome (please contact us through this Form).
|Our Shopping Cart services the U.S. and Canada. With shipping charge changes by carriers, our cart may not calculate shipping accurately, we will notify you of any additional charges before your order ships. Real-time Rates for Spee-Dee, and USPS are currently not available through our shopping cart.|
Orders are shipped from our distribution centers located in Indiana and Minnesota. Our shipping charges are simply what is dictated by the carrier. UPS discounts are built into orders over 200 lbs., and those discounts will be automatically passed on to our customers. We strive to ship items the same day. Orders are processed in the order they are received. USPS orders received after 10:00 a.m. will in most cases go out the following day due to newly implemented USPS shipping deadlines.
COD Charge: $12.00 per order. We no longer ship COD.
Handling Fee: $5.00 on orders of $100.00 or more.
Call-tag Surcharge: $10.00
Free Shipping on Perma-Chink Drop Ship Orders of 500 lbs. or More!
Perma-Chink Drop Ship Orders under 500 lbs. will include a 15% fee.
International Processing Fee for all International orders (except Canada) $25.00. International orders over $500 must be paid by bank transfer.
Canadian orders are recommended to be shipped via Priority Mail due to unknown costs through Canadian customs. UPS Standard is available but will most likely incur increased customs costs.
All mail to Alaska will be sent Priority Mail unless specified by the customer. Other options are Express or Media Mail.
Products restricted by certain carriers due to flash point, chemical makeup, size, weight, etc. may incur higher shipping costs by using a different carrier, we will contact you before shipping with the recalculated shipping charges.
Lost or Short Shipments
If an incomplete shipment is received, please wait an additional 2 days before notifying SLHS (shipments have been known to be separated and delayed by the carrier). If you have not received your shipment within 3-5 days, we will gladly send a tracer to locate the lost parcel.
Schroeder Log Home Supply is not responsible for damaged or lost merchandise after it is delivered to or picked up by the carrier. Before accepting any shipment from a carrier, inspect it for external/internal damage, and report any damage to the carrier’s agent within 24 hours. Follow the carrier’s instructions. Then, report any damage to SLHS. We will work with you on ways to resolve the problem. Do not return any merchandise to us without authorization from SLHS.
Can you tell me when my order went out?
We strive to get items shipped out the same day to minimize any delays. Orders are processed in the order that they are received and in 90% of the cases, they go out the same day.
How long will it take before I receive my order?
Click for FedEx, Spee-Dee Delivery and UPS shipping times. Once we deliver items to the carriers, delivery is on their time table.
Why are my shipping costs different every time I order, especially when I am ordering the same products? We have shipping warehouses in Indiana and Minnesota. Depending on the amount of inventory available, products may need to come from both warehouses in order to complete your order. Because time is usually the more important issue, we ship products from where they are currently in stock. If shipping costs are more important, please ask us to ship all products at the same time from the closest warehouse.
I haven't received all of the products that I ordered, why?
Your order may be arriving from multiple warehouses. If an incomplete shipment is received, please notify SLHS after 3 days (shipments have been known to be separated and delayed by the carrier). If necessary, we will gladly send a tracer to locate the lost parcel. Please understand that SLHS will only be responsible for claims received within 10 days of the shipment date.
My order was damaged during shipping. What should I do?

I would like to return some products that I ordered. What should I do?

Our accounting software allows us to look back to 1995.
Returns are accepted for merchandise purchased from SLHS and not another supplier. Prior authorization from Schroeder Log Home Supply, Inc. must be received before returning any merchandise. When authorization is given to return an item, a RMA number will be supplied and all packages that are returned MUST have this number marked on each package to receive credit (An example is RMA 2500.) All returned items must be new and in resalable condition in the original packaging or they will be refused. Used tools will be refused. Metal items that are rusty and dirty will be refused. Unauthorized returns will be refused. Shipping charges and responsibility for damage of returns are at the purchaser’s expense. Returns within 30 days will have a 15% restocking fee and there is a 20% restocking charge on returned merchandise after 30 days. The fee will be waived if applied for replacement items. Returns must be requested within 30 days of invoice date and must be delivered within 60 days (returns will not be accepted after 60 days). When products are returned, please indicate whether you want credit on your account, your credit card, or returned in the form of a check. If the product was originally purchased with your credit card, according to the law, it must be returned to the credit card. All Special Orders will have an automatic restocking fee regardless of purchase - less 15% plus $25.00 handling. Custom Orders are non-returnable.
